Running Tips with Cinergy Health

If you love running you want to make sure to continue doing so with as few injuries as possible.  The American Academy of Family Physicians recommends the following helpful tips.  Make sure not to increase your running distance by more than 10% per week.  Try to only run on flat, even ground that has some give to it.

As soon as you feel pain, stop running and ice that area of your body.  Try to balance longer runs with shorter runs, alternating days of running.  Make sure to replace your running shoes frequently, approximately every 500 miles, for the best shock absorption.

If you find that you do have a running injury, seek the medical attention that you need from your health plan like Cinergy Health or from your primary care physician. Ignoring the issue will not make it get better!
